Samosas recipe easy at home
Here is a simple recipe for making Samosas recipe easy at home:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 cup carrots, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and 6 tablespoons of oil. Mix until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add the water and mix until the dough comes together. Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat a few tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and cook until the onions are translucent.
- Add the potatoes, peas, and carrots to the pan and cook for 5-10 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the cumin, coriander, garam masala, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional minute.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool.
- Divide the dough into small balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Cut the circles in half to form semicircles.
- Place a spoonful of the filling onto one-half of the semicircle. Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle. Pinch the edges together to seal the samosa.
- Heat a few inches of oil in a deep pan or wok. Carefully add the samosas to the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the samosas from the oil and drain on a paper towel. Serve hot.
