Pazham Pori, also known as banana fritters, is a traditional Indian snack made with ripe plantains. Here is a recipe for making pazham pori:


Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe plantains
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. Peel the plantains and cut them into thin slices.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rice flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cardamom powder. Mix well.
  3. Slowly add water to the flour mixture and mix until a smooth batter is formed.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
  5. Dip the plantain slices into the batter, making sure they are evenly coated.
  6. Carefully place the battered plantains into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown.
  7. Take them out and put them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve the pazham pori hot and enjoy it with a cup of chai or coffee.

Note: You can add some chopped nuts, grated coconut, or a small amount of milk to the batter for a different flavor.
