Pazham Pori or Banana Fritters recipe
Pazham Pori, also known as banana fritters, is a traditional Indian snack made with ripe plantains. Here is a recipe for making pazham pori:
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe plantains
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup water
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
- Peel the plantains and cut them into thin slices.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rice flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cardamom powder. Mix well.
- Slowly add water to the flour mixture and mix until a smooth batter is formed.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Dip the plantain slices into the batter, making sure they are evenly coated.
- Carefully place the battered plantains into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown.
- Take them out and put them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve the pazham pori hot and enjoy it with a cup of chai or coffee.
Note: You can add some chopped nuts, grated coconut, or a small amount of milk to the batter for a different flavor.
