Hyderabadi Style Cut Mirchi Bajji Chaat Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 long green chilies, slit and deseeded
  • 1 cup of besan (gram flour)
  • 1/4 cup of rice flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for deep frying


For the chaat:

  • 2 cups of sev (crushed gram flour noodles)
  • 2 cups of finely chopped onions
  • 2 cups of finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup of tamarind chutney
  • 1/4 cup of mint chutney
  • 1/4 teaspoon of chaat masala
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Slowly add water to the mixture, stirring continuously, until the batter becomes smooth and of pouring consistency.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Dip each chili in the batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Drain on paper towel-lined plate.
  6. To make the chaat, place the fried chilies on a plate and top with sev, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, tamarind chutney, mint chutney, chaat masala and salt.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious and spicy Hyderabadi Style Cut Mirchi Bajji Chaat.

Note: You can adjust the amount of green chilies as per your taste.
