How to Make Poha Recipe
Here is a basic recipe for making Poha, a popular dish in India:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Poha (flattened rice)
- 1/2 cup peanuts
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chili peppers, finely chopped
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Coriander leaves, finely chopped, for garnish
Directions:
- Rinse the Poha in water and let it soak for 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes soft. Drain any excess water and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and green chili peppers. Cook until the seeds start to crackle.
- Add the onions and cook until they are translucent.
- Add the peanuts and cook until they are slightly browned.
- Add the raisins, grated coconut, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for a minute.
- Add the Poha and mix well. Cook for another minute or two.
- Remove from heat and add lemon juice and coriander leaves.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Note:
You can also add some boiled potatoes for variation.
