Rasam Recipe with Dal

Ingredients:
- 1 cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)
- 2 cups water

- 1 tsp garam masala

Instructions:
- Rinse the toor dal in cold water and add it to a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water. Cook the dal until it is soft and mushy, about 15-20 minutes.
- In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and dried red chili.
- When the seeds start to splutter, add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Cook for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Add the cooked dal and 1 cup of water to the pan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the tamarind paste and salt to the pan and stir to combine.
- In a small pan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the chopped coriander leaves and fry until they are crispy.
- Garnish the rasam with the fried coriander leaves and serve hot.
