Churumuri (Puffed Rice Snack)
Churumuri is a popular street food in South India that is made with puffed rice and various spices. Here is a recipe for making Churumuri (Puffed Rice Snack):
Ingredients:
- 2 cups puffed rice
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cucumber
- 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
- 2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp roasted peanuts (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the puffed rice, onions, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, cilantro, salt, sugar, red chili powder, and lemon juice. Mix well.
- Add the roasted peanuts and mix again.
- Serve the churumuri immediately.
Note: You can add other vegetables like bell peppers, boiled chickpeas, fresh grated coconut, or some sev (crushed gram flour noodles) to give it a different flavor.
