Corn Cutlet recipe
Corn Cutlet is a popular Indian snack made with a mixture of corn, spices, breadcrumbs, and deep-fried. It is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Here's a recipe for making Corn Cutlets at home:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups corn kernels, boiled
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
- 1 tbsp finely chopped green chilies
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the corn, onion, ginger, green chilies, breadcrumbs, cornflour, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
- Divide the mixture into 8-10 portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Heat oil in a deep pan or kadhai over medium heat. Once hot, gently slide in the cutlets and deep fry them for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Drain the cutlets on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
- You can add more or less spices as per your taste. Also, you can try shallow frying or baking the cutlets instead of deep frying for a healthier version. You can also coat the cutlets with breadcrumbs or semolina for a crispy texture.
- You can add some chopped coriander leaves
