Chicken Tikka Roll
Chicken Tikka Roll is a popular Indian street food made with marinated chicken tikka that is cooked on skewers and then wrapped in an Indian flatbread (roti or naan) with various toppings and sauces. Here is a simple recipe to make Chicken Tikka Roll:
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into small cubes)
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 2 tbsp tikka masala
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 4 rotis or naan
- 1/4 cup mint chutney
- 1/4 cup yogurt-based raita
- Shredded lettuce and chopped onion and tomatoes (optional) for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken cubes, yogurt, tikka masala, ginger-garlic paste and salt. Mix well to combine and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Thread the chicken cubes onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes before using to prevent burning) and brush with oil.
- Grill the chicken skewers for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.
- Heat up the roti or naan in the pan or on a dry griddle
- Assemble the rolls by spreading mint chutney and yogurt-based raita on the roti or naan.
- Add the grilled chicken tikka on top of the roti, add shredded lettuce, chopped onions, and tomatoes if desired, and roll it up like a wrap.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Note: You can use store-bought tikka masala and chutney, and can adjust the amount of toppings as per your preference.
