  4. Add chopped tomatoes and sauté until they turn mushy.
  5. Add curry powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste to the pan and sauté for a minute.
  6. Once the black-eyed peas are cooked, add the mixture to it and stir well. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
