Veg Sandwich Recipe (Bombay Sandwich Recipe)
The Bombay sandwich is a popular Indian street food made with a variety of vegetables and chutneys.
Ingredients:
- 8 slices of bread
- 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cucumber
- 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp green chutney
- 1 tbsp tamarind chutney
- 1 tsp red chili powde
- Salt to taste
- Butter or oil for toasting
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, onions, tomatoes, cucumber, coriander leaves, green chutney, tamarind chutney, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Take two slices of bread and spread a layer of the vegetable mixture on one slice.
- Place another slice of bread on top, and press down gently.
- Repeat the process to make more sandwiches.
- Heat a pan or sandwich maker and spread butter or oil on one side of each sandwich.
- Place the sandwiches in the pan or sandwich maker, butter or oil side down, and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the heat and cut the sandwiches into halves or quarters.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chutney of your choice.
