Old Fashioned cocktail
Old Fashioned - A classic cocktail made with whiskey, sugar, bitters, and a twist of orange peel. Here's a recipe for an Old Fashioned cocktail:
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. whiskey (bourbon or rye)
- 1 sugar cube or 1 tsp. granulated sugar
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 orange peel
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
- In an Old Fashioned glass, place the sugar cube (or granulated sugar) and add a splash of water to dissolve the sugar. Stir until dissolved.
- Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the sugar water and stir to combine.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the whiskey over the ice and stir until well combined.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel a strip of orange zest from the orange, making sure to avoid the white pith.
- Express the orange peel over the glass by squeezing it over the drink, allowing the oils to release and drop the peel into the drink.
- Give the cocktail a final stir and serve.
- Enjoy your classic and delicious Old Fashioned cocktail!
