Sweet Potato Cutlets, also known as Sweet Potato Tikki, are a delicious and healthy snack made with sweet potatoes and various spices. Here is a simple recipe to make them:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups boiled, mashed sweet potatoes
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup corn flour
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for shallow frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, onions, cilantro, corn flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into cutlets.
- Heat oil in a pan or kadhai.
- Once the oil is hot, add the cutlets to the pan and shallow fry until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the cutlets from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve the hot Sweet Potato Cutlets with green chutney or ketchup.
Note: You can add any vegetables of your choice to the mixture such as grated carrots, beans, or bell peppers. Also, you can roll the cutlets in bread crumbs before frying for added crispiness.
