Dahi Papdi Chaat 

Dahi Papdi Chaat is a popular street food dish from India, typically made with small fried dough wafers called papdi, along with various toppings such as boiled potatoes, chickpeas, yogurt, tamarind chutney, and coriander chutney.


To make Papdi Chaat, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of semolina
  • 1/4 tsp of ajwain seeds
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of oil
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for frying


For Toppings:

  • 1 cup of boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup of boiled chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 2 tbsp of tamarind chutney
  • 2 tbsp of coriander chutney
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder
  • Salt and chaat masala to taste


Dahi Papdi Chaat At Home

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, semolina, ajwain seeds, salt, sugar, and oil.
  2. Slowly add in water as needed and knead the dough until it is smooth and soft.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  4. After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls and roll out each ball into a thin circle.
  5. Heat oil in a pan for frying, and fry the papdis until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  6. To assemble the chaat, place a few papdis on a plate and top with the boiled potatoes, chickpeas, yogurt, tamarind chutney, coriander chutney, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, cumin powder, salt, and chaat masala.
  7. Repeat the layering until all the ingredients are used up.
  8. Serve the Papdi Chaat immediately.

Note: You can also use store-bought papdi or mathri for making this dish.
