Tomato Pasta recipe with Ingredients and Instructions


Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of spaghetti
  • 1 can (28 ounces) of diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  4. Stir in the cooked spaghetti and toss until the pasta is evenly coated with the tomato sauce.
  5. Serve hot and garnish with fresh basil, if desired.
