Tomato Pasta recipe with Ingredients and Instructions
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of spaghetti
- 1 can (28 ounces) of diced tomatoes
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil (optional)
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Stir in the cooked spaghetti and toss until the pasta is evenly coated with the tomato sauce.
- Serve hot and garnish with fresh basil, if desired.
