  1. In a heavy-bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil over medium heat and then reduce the heat to low.
  2. Cook the milk, stirring occasionally until it reduces and thickens. This will take around 30-40 minutes.
  3. Add the sugar and cardamom powder (if using) to the pan and mix well. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the sugar is fully dissolved and the rabdi has thickened to the desired consistency.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the chopped nuts (if using) and rose water (if using)
  5. Allow the rabdi to cool for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Note: You can also add some saffron or cardamom powder for added flavor.
