Arbi Ke Pakode (Colocasia Fritters)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of arbi (colocasia)
  • 1 cup of besan (gram flour)
  • 1/4 cup of rice flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

  1. Peel and grate the arbi. Squeeze out the excess water.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated arbi, besan, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Using your hands, take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small pakoras. Carefully slide them into the hot oil.
  5. Fry the pakoras until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the pakoras from the oil and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup. Enjoy!
