Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat the ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and bay leaf.
  3. When the spices start to sizzle, add the chopped onion and cook until it is golden brown.
  4. Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and garam masala. Cook for a few seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the green peas and salt to the pan and stir to combine.
  6. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Stir to coat the rice with the spices and green peas.
